Welcome! No two people are the same, so I tailor your sessions to fit your unique needs. Begin by asking yourself:
"What is it I need help with?"
· Smaller portions - being satisfied with less food.
· Healthier choices - saying no to particular foods.
· Stopping habitual eating.
· Eating for emotion, stress, or boredom rather than hunger.
· Motivation and follow through with being more active.
· Transitioning food from being the primary focus to a more supportive role, where it is appreciated for its nutritional value rather than as a central aspect of daily life.
· Family patterns/programming - showing love and care through food and eating.
· Programming such as - it is wrong to waste food or to not clean your plate.
· Other thoughts, feelings, and factors driving weight gain.
When it comes to weight loss, it's all about balance. The body needs to take in less than what it needs so the fat reserves can be used, resulting in weight loss. There are various ways this can be achieved:
· Change the types of foods you eat.
· Change the quantities of food you eat.
· Increase your motivation and levels of activity.
· Follow a particular plan of eating such as intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating, stopping sugar, low carb, sticking to a particular "diet" or finding what is right and acceptable to you.
· Prioritize self-care, quality sleep, and effective stress management.
Exploration Session
In an exploration session, we'll discuss your goals, past challenges, and successes.
Recording your food intake and feelings before and after eating over a week can be very insightful and help you become aware of things that need to change. Awareness creates choice! You are welcome to download the food mood diary page (available below) and use it.
Generally, a series of 4 sessions can be helpful, and clients who achieve amazing results often engage in 6 or more sessions.
