I offer professional hypnosis, Advanced Hypnosis, life coaching, and energy-based work to help clients break free from habits, patterns, and limiting beliefs. We are a dedicated mental wellness and hypnotherapy service, not a clothing alterations shop.
All new clients begin with a $10 Discovery Session (available Online or at our Napier clinic). The purpose of this assessment is to gather the relevant background needed to plan your sessions, rather than a general review of your life history.
Once we have identified what you are comfortable with, we will work exclusively within one of our core protocols:
The Deep Change: Advanced hypnotherapy integrating Superconscious processes + Energy work for complex issues like anxiety, weight, or addiction.
The Pattern Reset: Structured Hypnosis focused on breaking specific habits and loops.
Energy Alignment: Standalone sessions for energetic regulation and recalibration.
Past Life / Interlife Progression: A structured two-session process for exploring the narrative arc of your soul.

Instead of just talking about the problem, we work directly with the part of the mind that holds the automatic habit, loop, or internal alarm system, allowing for fast and lasting change.
Waking up anxious in the middle of the night or suffering from constant overthinking is often an automatic response from an over-functioning nervous system.
At Alterations Change Works in Napier, we use specialized hypnotherapy and sub-conscious recoding to interrupt these predictive brain patterns, helping you quiet the internal noise and restore deep sleep.
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention. It isn’t sleep, mind control, or being “under.” It’s a normal mental state that people move in and out of every day — when driving on autopilot, absorbed in a book, or deeply focused on a task.
Clinical Hypnotherapy works through guided attention and imagination, allowing the mind to rehearse new responses and loosen old automatic patterns.
Research shows that during hypnosis, activity shifts in areas of the brain involved in attention, habit, and emotional learning. This is why it is such an effective tool for changing patterns that feel automatic or stuck. Unlike 'talk therapy,' where we discuss the problem, Hypnotherapy allows us to update the subconscious reaction directly.
There is no special 'feeling' you need to achieve. Some clients at our Hawke's Bay clinic report feeling deeply relaxed, while others feel calm and alert. Both are valid.
Hypnosis is less about how it feels and more about how the mind engages with suggestions. You don’t need a perfect visual imagination to succeed. You might picture things clearly, sense them vaguely, or simply think the words. The subconscious responds to your intention, not your performance.
Most people can experience hypnosis if they are willing to participate. It’s a cooperative process — not something done to you, but something we do together.
You don’t need special talent or a vivid imagination. You simply need the ability to follow guidance and engage your attention. Hypnosis works best when you allow yourself to participate rather than trying to force or analyse the process.
My role is to guide the structure of the session. Your role is to engage with the instructions in a practical, ordinary way. When both sides cooperate, hypnosis becomes a reliable tool for working with habits, patterns, and emotional responses.
It’s less about “going under” and more about learning how to use your mind deliberately.
No. You remain aware and able to stop at any time.
No. In our Napier sessions, you remain aware, able to speak, and able to stop at any time. Nothing happens without your cooperation.
Hypnosis is not a trick or a performance; it is a structured way of working with attention. You cannot be made to do anything against your values. You are simply learning how to use your mind deliberately to break old cycles.
This depends on the person and the issue. Some clients feel noticeable shifts quickly. Others benefit from a short series of sessions to stabilise change. Most clients experience meaningful change within 3–4 sessions, though some notice breakthroughs sooner and others benefit from longer-term support.
Most work is structured in small packages rather than open-ended appointments. This gives enough repetition for the mind to learn and reinforce new patterns without dragging the process out.
During the Discovery Session we discuss your goals, how long the issue has been present, and what level of support is appropriate. There is no pressure to commit beyond what makes practical sense.
Change is not measured by speed. It’s measured by whether the new pattern holds in everyday life.
Hypnosis is used to work with habits, emotional responses, learned behaviours, unhelpful beliefs and areas of life where change or improvement feels difficult to access through effort alone. It can be applied to both problem-focused work and personal development.
Clients commonly seek help with:
• Habit change (smoking, vaping, alcohol, food patterns, gambling)
• Anxiety, stress, and overthinking
• Sleep regulation
• Confidence and performance
• Fears and phobias
• Emotional recovery after difficult experiences
• Skill development and mental skill development
• General improvement when something feels “off” but hard to define
• Regression or progression work (past life / interlife / future life)
Hypnosis is not a cure-all, and results vary from person to person. It is an effective method for working with mental and emotional patterns, and when someone is ready to engage with the process, change can occur more quickly than many expect.
We discuss your goals in the Initial Consultation and determine whether hypnosis is an appropriate tool for what you want to address.
This is high-level work that connects you to a wider field of information and awareness. By working in the Superconscious field, we can resolve patterns that feel "heavy" or "old" without needing to spend weeks talking through the past. It’s about clearing the path so you can step into your natural state of health and purpose.
In Deep Change Sessions, hypnosis is used to access this level of awareness and invite it to guide the process. Rather than analysing problems from the surface mind, the intention is not to force change, but to allow solutions and integration to arise from a part of the mind that sees more than the conscious layer can.
People experience this in different ways. Some notice emotional resolution, some gain insight, and others simply feel a sense of internal settling. No belief system is required. You don’t need to interpret the experience spiritually for the work to be effective.
Superconscious work is included only when a client is comfortable with that framework.
As an Activator Healer Coach, I work with the understanding that your physical and mental patterns are deeply connected to your energy system. When your system is "destabilised " by stress or trauma, you may feel stuck, flat, or out of alignment with your purpose.
While Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind, Activator Coaching works with your Human Energy Model. It is a gentle, non-invasive process that helps "re-activate" your system’s natural flow. This brings your body out of a stress response and back into a state of ease, making it much easier for the mental changes we make in hypnosis to take hold.
Energy Alignment sessions can be standalone. Energy work is also integrated into Deep Change Sessions and Pattern Reset Plus Sessions.
The goal is stabilisation and optimisation — helping you to function at your natural baseline rather than compensating for energetic strain.
The Discovery Session usually lasts around 40 minutes.
Full working sessions are usually about 50 to 90 minutes, and up to two hours depending on the type of session and whether it is an initial session or a subsequent one. Subsequent sessions typically fall within the 50–90 minute range although it really depends on the work we are doing and also the type of sessions. Deep Change are obviously longer than Pattern reset and Pattern Reset Plus.
These are approximations. Every client is different, and I endeavour to allow enough time to complete the work without rushing.
Please arrive on time and wait in your car until just a minute or rwo before your appointment time. If you need to leave by a specific time, let me know in advance of the session so we can plan accordingly.
Your first appointment is an Initial Consultation. This is a structured conversation rather than a hypnosis session.
During this time we clarify what you want to change, review relevant background, and discuss how the work might be approached. You can ask questions, and we decide whether moving forward makes practical sense.
No full hypnosis or energy work begins until after the Initial Consultation. This ensures the process is matched to you and that expectations are clear on both sides.
All clients begin here. I need understanding and information to allow me to create and write the sessions specifically for you and your desired outcome.
Yes. Both hypnosis and energy work are considered low-risk when practiced appropriately, and sessions are structured to keep you aware and able to stop at any time.
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention. You remain conscious, able to speak, and able to end the session whenever you choose. Nothing is done without your cooperation.
Energy work is non-invasive and gentle. The aim is regulation and balance rather than force. Most people experience it as calming or settling.
Neither process involves surrendering control. They are structured tools you participate in.
If you have medical or psychiatric conditions, we discuss this during the Discovery Session to ensure the work is appropriate and safe for you.
Yes. I offer hypnosis and energy work sessions online, and they are just as effective as in-person sessions.
Online sessions follow the same structure as in-person sessions. You’ll need a quiet, private space, a stable internet connection, and ideally headphones so you can focus without interruption.
Working from home removes travel time and allows you to stay in a familiar environment. For some people this makes it easier to relax and engage with the process. You need to ensure a good connection and I need to be able to see your head, shoulders, arms and hands. The device you are using needs to be on a stand rather than being held by you.
We discuss suitability for online work during the Discovery Session to ensure it’s the right format for you.

❓ How should I prepare for a session?
Preparation is simple. Arrive clean, comfortable, and able to focus.
A few practical guidelines help the session run smoothly:
• Wear comfortable clothing
• Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs or alcohol beforehand
• Drink water and arrive reasonably hydrated
• Take a moment to clarify what you want to work on
• Let me know at the start if you need to leave by a specific time
For a first session ensure you have listened to the mp3 provided after the initial Consultation at least two times on different days prior to your first session.
You don’t need to “perform” or prepare mentally. Just arrive willing to engage with the process.
No practitioner can guarantee outcomes. Hypnosis is a cooperative process, and change depends on how a person engages with the work.
I guide the structure of the sessions and provide the methods. You decide how fully to participate. Suggestions cannot be forced — you always retain the ability to accept, ignore, or modify them. That autonomy is part of how hypnosis works.
Most clients notice change when they engage consistently and apply what we work on between sessions. The pace and extent of change varies from person to person.
Results depend on individual readiness, participation, and follow-through.
