Feeling so much better and am actually managing to save money!  - Lance

Less to worry about and so much more energy. I feel like I have walked out of a cage of some sort. The golf has improved too! - Craigman

Jan worked with that part of me that kept me smoking. I had no
urges, no cravings. It's like I just forgot about smoking.

Twelve months ago I had a hypnosis session with Jan to quit smoking. I had my last

cigarette before the session and I've had  no urges or cravings. I still regularly enjoy a

beer - I just changed the brand - I can even handle being around people who are

smoking. I feel really sorry for them.  I love being a non smoker and I can't believe I

used to smell like that!

Mark.

This is a big THANK YOU to Jan who helped me stop smoking cigarettes. I had been a smoker for approx 30 yrs and

after hypnotherapy from Jan I am now free from the thought, habit and any desire to smoke. I am now approx 6

months a non-smoker. I had tried the patches, gum, herbal cigs, none of them completely freeing me from the

habit. I was constantly thinking of cigs, sometimes consuming my thoughts. Jan eliminated these thoughts and

any desire to return to smoking. I'm eternally grateful.

Often I am told “Smoking helps me to relax.”

In reality,  the nicotine in tobacco causes the arteries to constrict. This means the heart has to

work harder to pump blood around your body. Smoke 20 cigarettes in a day and your heart

will have to beat an extra 10,000 beats in that 24 hour period.

Nicotine causes blood pressure to rise and increases the risk of blood clots.

Carbon monoxide reduces the blood’s capacity to take in oxygen and is responsible for

cholesterol deposits on artery walls. Every muscle, all tissue and every single cell in your body

require a good supply of nutrient rich oxygenated blood. It is easy to see why smokers are more

at risk of heart disease and stroke!

In reality our body reacts to being poisoned by cigarette smoke in the same way it would if it

was subjected to an horrific experience. The body’s automatic defense system is activated and

the body enters ‘fight or flight’ mode. In this mode the digestive system shuts down, blood

supply to the extremities is decreased and the immune system also shuts down so the body can

flee or stop and defend itself from the perceived danger.

Hardly relaxing!

And that’s without mentioning the effects on the lungs. But did you know the kidney and liver

are also affected?  These organs filter out waste matter in the body and excrete it. With the

huge increase in toxins in the body due to smoking, these organs have a far greater workload

as they attempt to filter out the vast amounts of impurities.  Carcinogens from tobacco pass

through both of these organs so there is greater likelihood of cancer in both these areas.

Sexy ~ NOT!

Smokers are less sexually potent. Smoking damages and destroys sperm and ova. Impotence is

more prevalent among smokers and  we’re all aware of the fact that smoking while pregnant

damages the baby. But did you realize that the incidence of placenta separation and

miscarriage is increased in mothers who smoke?

Enjoying a good sexual relationship with your partner is one of the pleasures of life. It has such

wonderfully positive effects on a relationship. To have good sex it’s important to be at your

best. Smoking prevents this. All those little nerve endings need that nutrient - full and well

oxygenated blood and when they and the rest of your body get that your stamina and energy

improves as does your health.

Some research evidence on the efficacy of hypnosis

Interesting stuff ...

Your first ever cigarette was undoubtedly unpleasant. The

spinning head, burning throat, coughing, foul taste and sick

feeling were reactions generated by the subconscious to protect

you from the poisons ingested via smoking. With the introduction

of those poisons the delicate and exact chemical equilibrium of

the body was placed in peril . As you continued to attack your own defenses through additional

smoking the subconscious programming became contaminated and it began to accept the new

 chemicals as normal and needed.

We all know smoking is unhealthy and that cigarette smoke contains many, many chemicals.

There are over 200,000 chemical compounds in tobacco smoke. We also know the effect on our

lungs.  I frequently know a person wants a smoking cessation session before they've told me. I

can hear it in their voice. Sometimes it's the unmistakable huskiness or gravelly quality. At other

times I can hear it in the breathing or the uneven cadence and measure in the voice.
